Aoyuan Li
Speech Therapist
Aoyuan was awarded the Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) Health Science Overseas Scholarship in year 2011, and subsequently graduated from University College London, with a Bachelor’s with first class honours in Speech Sciences in 2015. Aoyuan is currently registered under the Allied Health Professions Council.
Aoyuan began her career as a speech therapist in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), where she worked with children with communication delays and/or disorders, and children with articulation and/or phonological disorders, and their families. She is experienced in working with children of various medical backgrounds such as prematurity, global developmental delay, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, and autism.
Aoyuan takes a special interest in special needs education. Having volunteered and interned at schools for children with special needs, she has developed a better understanding of the children and their families’ challenges and goals over the years.
Aoyuan is also a clinical educator and has experience providing supervision under the guidelines of the Allied Health Professions Council in the areas of speech and language, and training in neonatal feeding. In recognition of her efforts, she was awarded the Singhealth ‘Associate in Education’ in 2021,
As a mother of 2 young children, Aoyuan knows the value of fun and play in early childhood development and is invested in working closely with caregivers to identify interests and strengths to achieve a child’s full communication potential.
