Loretta Ho

Occupational Therapist

Loretta is an Occupational Therapist who has more than 8 years of clinical experience working with children across clinic, home, mainstream and special school settings. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Queen Margaret University, Scotland, and is registered under the Allied Health Professional Council (Singapore).

Loretta is also a certified practitioner in Ayres Sensory Integration. Upon graduating, Loretta worked with children with developmental difficulties in both the clinic and in mainstream preschools. Subsequently, she spent 5 years in a special education school, Rainbow Centre, where she worked with children from 7-18 years old, with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as physical and multiple disabilities. Over there, Loretta worked closely with teachers to support students in areas such as sensory integration, postural management, feeding, handwriting, assistive technology prescription and vocational training. Loretta has also conducted trainings and workshops for teachers in school, and intentionally works closely with teachers and parents to equip them with easy and practical strategies to implement in the classroom and at home. With a strong, supportive and collaborative ecosystem, the child can then translate their skills functionally and meaningfully into everyday activities and thrive in their natural environment.

Loretta adopts a child-led approach during therapy, preferring to understand and put the child’s needs first, rather than just having them complete activities. Attunement is key to understanding and meeting them where they are at, before guiding them to develop the skills they need to be independent. She particularly enjoys working together with children with developmental difficulties — supporting them in their development of self-care skills and maximising their potential to learn, play and work in their different stages of life.

As someone who enjoys sharing her experiences and skills, Loretta also provides clinical supervision to junior occupational therapists to develop their clinical skills. As a working mum, Loretta believes in using play and simple everyday activities to connect and build relationships and skills with her three young children at home.

Loretta is trained in:
