Nutritional Needs
For children with poor growth, feeding difficulties, fussy eating or are on tube feeding, a Dietitian will be able to advise on the nutritional adequacy for your child/adult’s needs. Feeding plans will be carried out in conjunction with the Speech Therapist, to ensure seamless goals with all parties.
We incorporate a myriad of feeding approaches, depending on what will benefit you and your child the most. They may include:
- Medical intervention in discussion with your doctor (e.g. medication for reflux)
- Direct feeding therapy
- Nutritional changes (e.g. altering caloric intake of milk or food)
- SOS Approach (Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding)
- Feeding Therapy: A sensory motor approach
- Oro-motor therapy using TalkTools® equipment and food
- MORE – Integrating the Mouth with Sensory and Postural Functions
- Behaviour management techniques
- Postural or positioning changes
